May: It’s Hopland Passport Time!

Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2015, 11 am to 5 pm

Come enjoy a relaxed pace and celebrate the culinary bounty of Mendocino County’s little wine gem, Hopland. You can expect no worries, lots of sunshine, and lush spring greenery—the perfect setting to explore our excellent small-production wines. Lodging is easy.

Your Hopland Passport allows you to visit 13 Hopland-area wineries on the weekend of May 2 & 3 (tip: great bike route!). Get your passport stamped by 7 wineries and you are eligible to enter to win one of over 30 prizes in the Passport Prize Giveaway. Saturday, May 2 is capped by the 30th Annual Hopland Volunteer Fire Department Barbeque with the firemen slinging tri-tip, pork, and chicken from their pit grill.

Congratulations to Jennifer Shick of Pinole, California, who won a new LG G Pad tablet in the Early Bird drawing by purchasing her ticket before March 31. Discounted ticket prices continue until April 30 ($50) or purchase your ticket at the event for $55.

You can expect delicious food pairings, wineries pouring their best wines, barrel-tastings, art, tours, and live music. Here’s a sampling:

Enjoy specialty dessert goodies…dark chocolate cranberry, lemon drop, and Dr. Midnight at Terra Savia. Step back into the 50s at Rivino Winery for a revival of the movie Grease with music and classic cars. Relax in Nelson Family Vineyards’ serene redwood grove, a majestic and magical place, and enjoy wood-fired pizza and live music. More live music on the lawn at Milano Family Winery is paired with red-wine-infused oak-smoked tri-tip. Over a dozen gourmet dips and spreads are offered at McNab Ridge Tasting Room along with wine bottles hand-painted by a local artist. Award-winning McFadden Vineyard wines will be poured with their organic grass-fed beef and red wine reduction mushroom demi glaze. Experience upper Russian River grilling at Jeriko Estate with a wild display of mixed meats. Sit on the veranda at Jaxon Keys Winery & Distillery and enjoy hearty local beef stew with delicious estate wines. Come to Graziano Family of Wines to try a dry white wine with imported aged cheeses, or red with tri-tip. Join Frey Vineyards at the Solar Living Institute inside Real Goods for delicious organic & biodynamic wines and Hawaiian-inspired savories. Savor traditional Filipino roasted pig and lumpia at Cesar Toxqui Cellars with organic Zinfandel. Enjoy Campovida’s gardens with an immersion in organic principles guided by master gardener Ken Boek. At Brutocao Cellars we’ll be dancing on the deck, enjoying scrumptious eats, rolling bocce balls, and barrel-tasting. Read all the details about Hopland Passport online.
